The myth of Jesus has been stolen from many other past myths. And they have much in common; born to a virgin on or near three days after the winter solstice, proformed mericles, Healing the sick, blind, deaf, etc, feeding multitudes, walking on water, having 12 deciples, one of which turns on him, then the diety dies a violent death, rises from the dead three days leter, etc.
The Jesus myth was stolen from previous lies. Further; there is NO archelogical evidence supporting anyone like that ever actually lived.
In Laten American countries you might find that someone named Jesus lived (pronaunced Hay-sus) but not the one from the Bible.

Why should anyone rely on a proxy? that will allow one to rest on thier laurels.
The very idea of Jesus's life and death has been stolen from previous myths. Even though religous fanatics and followers will tell you otherwise.
So the answer is a NO Jesus never died for anyone's sins, so GET OVER IT!!! |

Just simply compare all the ancient religons, myths, Gods and Goddesses; they all have much in common and you will find many similarities. Many of the Gods and Goddesses were born on or around Dec 25th to a virgin, proformed miricles usually for humanity (healing the sick, blind, deaf, feeding the hungry, Etc.) did miralulous things then usually died a marters and/or a horrific death.
The names, times, and places, and miricles proformed may have changed but the basic idea of that faith did not. The same goes for Christianity. Many of thier ideas have been stolen from other myths. |

Why cant you just simply forgive yourself for your sins? why do you have to beleive that some fictional character did it for you? |

Love is internal NOT external, it doesn’t come from a magic man in the sky, the man on the moon, or any other source outside of each of us. Every on of us has a different capacity to feel and understand the emotion we call love. Although that emotion is intrinsic to part our make up, it comes from an internal source ONLY.
And that source is the brain with the neurons and chemicals that creates this feeling we call love; it is subjective and only exists within the beholder. And each and every one of us has the capacity to feel the effects we classify as love. And this chemical which we call love which exists within us, exists for the sole purpose to carry on the human race, caring for our young, and survival. And that is love's ONLY purpose.
There's an article in either "Smithsonian" or "National Geographic" that talks about this very subject.

Wow lefty you got it all wrong. Yes technically Jesus will forgive you if you did all that but you forgot one key thing. saying your a Christian means you want to have a relationship with Christ and because of his great love for us you would never want to do anything wrong (especially to that extent). Every other religion teaches that you need good works to reach God but Christianity teaches God is trying to reach man.
Let’s look at your points you posted
First; you have to be truly sorry for the wrong committed
That is correct. If you’re not sincere about your sins then you’re just lying to yourself
Second; you must understand and recognize the EXACT nature of your wrongs. For example; if you were violent and abusive to your mate. The exact nature of their wrong may be bad or no communication, Fear, jealousy, lust, Etc.
True but your forgetting Christians are relying on god's power to better themselves not there own. If we try to do it on or own we will surly fail or get a poor outcome
Third; you must try to rise above that defect of character and Try not to EVER do it again.
Like I said with the 2nd point if you trust yourself you will most likely wont succeed but if you trust god you'll get the peace you need
Forth; you must make the necessary amends and restitution for the wrong committed.
Correct
Fifth; You must give freely of what you find,(IE.share your experience) with others and help them to rise above their defects of character, so that others ESPECIALLY the younger people you're in contact with may not make the same mistakes you made.
You don't have too but it gives you brownie points with God (lol)
Sixth; by this time you should start forgiving yourself. The idea is to awaken the Christ within ourselves.
Wrong. Your not awaking Christ he is awaking you. It goes back to point one (or maybe 2) when you recognized your wrong and desire to do better God will give you the peace of mind and the wisdom to do what is right.
The key to Christianity is to love because Jesus IS love (1 John 4:8)
Christianity is all about forgiving sins but that is only a fraction of the whole thing, LOVE and trusting God in every area in your life. Those who love (Christian or not) are the real members of society and are the ones who deserve honor.

I just hate my neighbors dogs, in fact I think I'll kill them, and thier daughter??? she could put and high school cheerleader to shame, I want sexual relations with her even though she's under 18 and I'm over 21, I only want sexual relations with her and and nothing more. And if she gets pregnant well she will just get an abortion.
I may be dead wrong, but that's Ok because Jesus will just forgive me RIGHT???? |

Now, Lefty seems to be a person who actually thinks for himself. It really is a stupid idea that someone else could take on our sins and we can do anything crazy we want as long as we accept Jesus in the end! |

NEWSFLASH!!!!!! Jesus NEVER died for anyones sins. That is if he exisyted at all.
The ONLY way to get forgiven for your sins is through several steps;
First; you have to be truly sorry for the wrong commited
Second; you must understand and recodnise the EXACT nature of your wrongs. For example; if you were violent and abusive to your mate. The exact nature of thier wrong may be bad or no communication, Fear, jelousy, lust, Etc.
Third; You must try to rise above that defect of character and Try not to EVER do it again.
Forth; you must make the necessary amends and restitution for the wrong committed.
Fifth; You must give freely of what you find,(IE.share your expierence) with others and help them to rise above thier defects of charecter, so that others ESPECIALLY the younger people you're in contact with may not make the same mistakes you made.
Sixth; By this time you should start forgiving yourself. The idea is to awaken the Christ within ourselves.
Sorry to break it to anyone who thinks diffenently but to just beleive that your sins are forgiven by some fictitus charecter is to rest on your laurels and you're headed for trouble if you do. Dont you want to try to never make those same mistakes again?
You will be amased at how many people will be atttracted to you and want to be your friends when you show by example how you have chanced for the better, Abanden yourself to god as you understand god, admit your faults with him/her/it and others (acknoledge your charecter defects), Clear away the wreckage of your past, make restitution and nescessary amends for your wromgs committed, gove freely of what you find, Share your expierence, Strength, and hope with others. And great things willl come to pass. You will be able to look the world in the eye, holding your head up. You will begin to love yourself, by so going you will gain self respect, self asteem, foresight, self confidenance, and you will become a productive member of society in good standing, and others will thing higher of you, and they will respect you. |

A comment on your "first leader" as Peter:
Other than the book of Revelations has to be one of the biggest drug trips ever!!!
The Catholics claim this to be true as they will insist that Peter was the first Pope. There were several other groups at that same time that carried forward the teachings of Jesus including the Gnostics (meaning purveyors of knowledge). The Emperor Constantine converted to the teachings of the established followers of Peter and called the council which took place in the year 325 in Constantinople, now Istanbul Turkey. The Council of Nicaea unified all these splintered groups into the first actual Christian church which became known as the Catholic (meaning Universal) Church. There may have been a number of small "Jesus cults" in the intervening time that did not bend to the absolute rule of the Catholic Church but the Catholics were the only official Christian Church till the days of Luther, about 12 centuries. There were several reasons Martin Luther broke away and started his own church which became the Lutherans, the first of the long line of protestant (meaning protesting) churches. I tend to agree with his reasons for the rebellion, specially the cruelty of the crusades and the inquisitions.
Please don't worry about your perfect writing or anything else. I'm glad to see this forum get good discussions going with no screaming at each other. That's what this is all about.

i see were you are comming from and i truly do understand your view but i think you been misinformed about a few things
the protestants left out certant books because the jewish people didn't have them in there bible & the bible teaches that the jews are the oricals of God's word. im not catholic so i cant say to much about them but i do notice some stuff that isn't biblical about them.
i also have a jewish bible that has the original writings of the old testement (the hebrew part) and it is mostly the same, few translation errors but same message
as for the first "offcial church" jesus ordained peter (One of his deciples) to be the first leader. if you read the first few chapers of revalations you'll see how the early churches were
i saw a bit of jesus boy's videos (he has a lot) i think they are interesting to at least look at. i don't care if there true or not im just gonna live my life the best way i can and if the end is near then it's cool, if it isn't then it's still cool.
im sorry im not to great at debating thats why i posted my websites. i think you would like

if you like to debate about this stuff or hebrew4christians.com/
if you wanted to see christian oragins and there infuences (through there jewish counterparts eyes)
also i saw some of your sights, there quite informative
if you mannaged to read all my rabbel thus far sorry i wasn't clear cut. i tend to blackout when people whants to debate me on something |

You have a very good point here even though I don't believe in the root of where you're coming from. I think the very WORST sin you can possible commit is that of hypocrisy, that of saying one thing then doing another. Unfortunately we see preachers everyday that do that! I once knew a proclaimed Catholic that did not believe in original sin. In my humble opinion this person was not a Catholic at all since that's one of the basics of their belief structure. This person was a "cafeteria" style Christian, picking and choosing what beliefs he wanted! The Catholic Church has absolute structure, either you are or you aren't. And - if the beliefs are fixed why are there so many protestant churches where beliefs are different in each one ! ! !
Now - - -
The root of the word "religion" is usually traced to the Latin religare (re: back, and ligare: to bind),
This is what some ppl say about the subject. Webster's Collegiate Dictionary traces the word back to an old Latin word religio meaning "taboo, restraint." A deeper study discovers the word comes from the two words re and ligare. Re is a prefix meaning "return," and ligare means "to bind;" in other words, "return to bondage."
Some people choose to be bound by a bunch of man-made rules, I don't!
All people such as Jesus Boy get their belief structure from the Bible, a book put together by the first "official" church in the year 325 at the Council of Nicaea, a meeting of a bunch of loosely knit organizations that all claimed to be followers of Jesus yet had a lot of different beliefs, some even not accepting the divinity of Jesus. The Bible (from the word "bibliography") is a compilation of books chosen by that council to fit the beliefs they wanted to push. The first 5 books were left as is as they are the ancient Hebrew Torah, although were translated somewhat different in places. Many books with different beliefs were left out because they didn't have the power to control people (bind them) as much.
Most of the source of the "apocalypse", a word never mentioned in the Bible, is the Book of Revelation. This book had to be written high of heavy drugs or by a complete schizophrenic! One of the biggest fairy tales ever written!!
Then, after the protestant revolution, several books were dropped from the Bible (still in the Catholic Bible) that contained quite a bit of down to earth wisdom. Again mankind decided what you could study and what you could not.
Sorry, but this is the authentic origin of the group of books today known as the Bible. Nothing divine about that at all. There's some good stuff in there that we can all use but it isn't divine law by any means, just good writings.
Have you read the real original books of the Bible written in Ancient Hebrew, Aramaic and Ancient Greek. There are a few scholars that have made translations from the originals and they are quite different in places. What we call the Bible today is a translation of a translation several times over. |

i think the man thin people need to remember is not to judge the religion on what the people do but jugde the people on what the religion says they should do. if a religion says to love someone and that fallower isn't doing it then obviously they arnt a true member of that religion, it doesn't mean the religion is bad it just means the people are. as a christian i try my best to do what it teaches and it hurts my heart to see others ruin my religions name. so if you see a "bad christian" don't look down on the whole just reminde them that what they are doing isn't right. if they don't listen then you know you did the right thing & the guilt is on them & them alone. |

Check out religioustolerance.org for a great look at most all religions. Completely open, honest and will not try to push you in any direction.
Also realize that Pagan belief comes from a time way before Jesus. They are "experiential" religions, not "revealed." This means you must experience God (with whatever name or gender) or the Universal Power for yourself by connecting with nature, not as revealed by any person or book. This gives you a very personal connection with greatest power in the Universe.
The Christian church was "officially" formed in the year 325 at the Council of Nicaea in Constantinople where a lot of ragtag groups were brought together under one banner. The consisted of followers of Jesus, some believing in his divinity and some not, some somewhat organized, some not at all.
In the subsequent time between then and now there were very low points in the history of the Christian Church such as the execution of several scientists and philosophers who taught that the world wasn't flat and was not the center of the Universe. Also the inquisitions, the murder of hundreds of thousands of mostly women for the crime of heresy, simply not believing in the "official" church teachings.
Many of today's Christians truly believe in the teachings of Jesus yet a lot still would kill anyone who doesn't believe the way they do.
Hopefully places like this will bring people together in understanding and be able to live peacefully with each other. |

Hello Bill.
We all have freewill to live our lives in a way that will progress our spirit to a higher level of being. Mankind have different ways of achieving this. Who are we to say if one faith is right and another wrong we are responsible for our own lives. I live by the example that Jesus gave us when he was on the earth plane. Remember he was not a Christian, but a souls of the Universe called Love ^j^ |

I believe that an Atheist is one who doesn't believe in a deity of any kind and an Agnostic is one who has a belief in a divine power but not any specific religion (man made rules). I like your definition of Atheist too as A-Theist would mean Not-Theist. A-Gnostic would mean Not-Gnostic but that would only apply if you took Gnostic to mean mankind's made-up religions. I think the original Gnostics were those who thought for themselves and did not accept the "Religion-of-the-Day," which is a good thing.
Anyway, I do believe that our lives and deeds should speak for themselves. I live in a very "Bible Belt" area where most everyone I know is Baptist or something like that. They all seem to accept me without question and just assume I'm something good because of my life and deeds. I'm very active in community and civic life.
The term Eclectic Spiritualist is good. I also like Pantheist, which actually is sorta organized but not many around. Pantheist means the higher power resides in everything, including us. I like that... |
| Paul |
12/1/08 |
Bill;
For the most part I agree with your theologocal ideas. I call the God/dess him/her/it, the higher power of MY understanding, NOT what someone else tells me how I should understand it. That's why I call myself an acclectic spiritualist or a non-theist.
However, anytime anyone askes, I tell them I am whatever you say I am. let my actions, conduct and behavor tell you what I am. And hopefully you will think that I am a follower of whatever faith YOU think is best.
But after pondering long and hard, I guess I should call myself an a gnostic atheist, (but try to explain that one to someone could be too much time trouble).
You see what I mean is that theisim is one who follows the dictates or the theology of some faith and since I choose not to, the letter "A" before some words mean "NOT" so since I choose to be a NON or NOT a theist, I am an atheist.
Now the word "Gnosticism" (to my knowledge) means a belief in a devine, or higher power God/dess/it. And so since I beleive in a higher power that makes me a Gnostic Atheist (I think). Some people who DO NOT beleive at all in a devinity or a theology call themselves atheist but shouldnt they call themselves AGNOSTIC instead?
Please correct me if I am wrong. |

Just back home feeling bloated from too much food and celebrating the day that illegal aliens came ashore in a beautiful foreign land and proceeded to take over and slaughter the natives!
Anyway, don't have the time to really examine the two films mentioned below but they do make sense. However I'm not sure if it's correct when mentioned in one that "we would be better off without religion or a belief in God."
My belief would be that we would be MUCH better if modern religion had never been invented - yes INVENTED by mankind to control people who do nothing but follow blindly (sheeple). Religion is a control scheme developed by people with a "God Complex" but true Spirituality is just a belief that something "out there" (or "in here") exists and we can work with it to live a better and more productive life. Actually the key words in my life are "ALL IS ONE."
Hey - if there was a Jesus (and there is plenty evidence there was) he would have been a rebel who lived in the woods close to nature and tried to teach people how to do the same in order to be happy and productive. He didn't have a church and never tried to form one! People like that today are persecuted and would probably be executed by the "true believers" if they could. There is evidence he was married and had kids. If not, since he lived with 12 men, he could have been gay! The bottom line is who cares!! The message was good. The Christian Church of today is based on the teachings of Paul, not Jesus, and a book where contents were hand picked by the originators of this grand scheme and is one of the greatest ways to control sheeple ever put together. |

on my last reply I made a mistake in a word I meant to say the word "reform"
it should have read "religon can never reform mankind because religon is slavory"
|
| Christine |
11/26/08 |
I.ve concluded that;
1. Religion is a noble lie fabricated by the social elate, to ensure social order.
2. Religions can NEVER control mankind because religion is slavery.
3. Church is a place in which where people who’ve never been to heaven, brag about it to people who will never get there.
And that all of you are going to hell because none of you do believe exactly as I do, my religion is right, yours is wrong, I know truth’ and you don’t. That all there’s to it.

Gee, it would have been nice if you actually answered my question as to your source instead of more blabbering! Did you make all this up, did you hear about it on TV, did you read a book of some sort?
What is the origin of Jesus? His parentage, etc.?
As to the sticks, the answer is that we would both be waiting there a long time for a fire to spontaneously occur!
How do you know where my inspiration comes from? Do you just assume I don't believe in God?
What is God, exactly?
You must not think much of Christians as you don't even capitalize the word when you use it! You didn't even capitalize Jesus in your main topic heading! Shame on you! God will get you for that - yes she will ! ! !
Please answer my questions instead of just blabbering more. Learn to think.

Saul was an abuser and murderer of christians. He hated christians and killed them, one day on his way to Damascus he was blinded by a bright light. God Blinded him and told him what to do and he then knew he was wrong. Saul was a man who did not believe in God nor in Christians. God changed his name from Saul to Paul. Paul became one of Gods greatest Disciples.
Until you see him or feel him in your heart you will remain an unbeliever. Those who are not in Christ, who are not baptized into his kingdom, his blood will see the delusions of the devil. The Devil is the manipulator of the mind. He is also a great deceiver.
Those who believe in other Gods such as a Buddah, or some other statue i ask them this question. Put sticks together in a pile and ask your so called Gods to strike it and cause it catch on fire. See if your God can do that? If your so called statues and Gods can do that then i would like to put you and me side by side in a test, you pray to your God, Buddah, statue, and i will ask my God ( Jesus Christ, God of the World universe, my master and creator of all things ) to light those sticks. Care to do that my friend?
The people made a image of a golden calf, they prayed to it and worshiped it but it did them no good. it was only an object, an image that they had made. God is not an image. He is Alpha and Omega, the first and last, the begining and the end.
My source and spirit comes from God and when my body passes my spirit will return to God.
Unto me, who am less then the least of all saints, is this grace given, that i should preach among the gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ: And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the World hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God. According to the external purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord ( EPH 3:8-11 ). |

What is the source of your belief system? Many people have had near death experiences and it always comes out that they see what they expect to see. Christians see Jesus. Muslims see Muhammad. Buddhists see The Buddha. So this is not a source of things you believe. What is that source? |

sorry bill,
it is not delusions!
i feel for you i really do. Cause soon when you yourself pass away, when you leave your body and go into that great unknown to you and if you go without knowing that man Jesus. If you go without believing, then when you see and know that i spoke the truth. it will be too late my friend. There will be a big gully between us and i will not be able to reach out to you and to pull you out of that big hole. It breaks my heart because so many people just do not know. They just do not have no idea that their is a life after death, that your body is the only thing that dies, your spirit lives on and on,etc. Where that spirit will be is up to you.
Lazares could not help that poor rich men. He tried but was unable to. He could not reach him because there was a big gully between him and the rich men. The rich man tried to ask God to let him go back and warn his siblings but God refused to let him. God said " they have the prophets and the others to warn them "
i can only warn and pray. Its up to you to make the choice on where you will be and on what side of the gully you will be on. many will not believe me as much as many will.
you decide!
if you choice wrong and die that way then there is no turning back. You will make the bed you lie in. you have less then 4 years to make that choice.
Choice wisely my friend! |

Bill, are you trying to say that Jesus is not at all real? Because if you are then i think you need to know that he was not invented and is very much real. I myself a long time ago ( well if you want to call a couple years a long time ) had not really believed in anything after death and i was a christian, had even been baptised into christ, attended church every time i had a chance to but things keep getting to me, kept getting me down so much that i assumed my life would be better off if i was dead, so i attempted my life. i took 66 sleeping pills and mixed it or you could say washed it down with vodka. i died, was physically and medically confirmed dead by the doctor and nurses on duty that day for a full 10 minutes. i have documented proof from my medical records that i was clinically dead, no heart beat, no pulse. in that shirt ten minutes i will never forget what happened nor what i saw.
i left my body and seen the doctors working on me. i went into the hallway, seen my minister and his wife and they were talking to the doctors and nurses, then i went upward very fast like a big jolt or pull and went into darkness, so very dark that i could not even see my hand. it was cold, damp, and musky. i then began to pray to jesus to help me that i was sorry that i attempted my life, then out of the corner in the far dark was this brillent light, so tiny but it kept coming closer to me, and as it got closer the room got warmer and suddenly i could see my hands and i feel down, this light was so powerfull i had no choice but to fall to my knees and i could not look at it cause it was so bright. when i got to the floor it was a purple redish color and was translusient like it was there but it was not there, this being asked me if i wanted that, ( to be dead ) and i said no , this being told me things and showed me things of what is going to happen in this world next and then it then said go back and bring my lost sheep home. the floor gave way and i started falling, when i hit the bottom i started coughing and was back in my body.
This being was Jesus.. he is a real spiritual being and since that day that i seen him when i died i have been able to see the dead and to see things happening before they happen, i see peoples auras, if they are weak their aura is dim, if it is bright they are strong in the lord.
Jesus is not a made up character. he is very spiritual and very much real. What is about to happen to this earth is so bad and it has all been planned out, but Jesus and his angles will win. This whole earth has less then 4 years left, 2012 is the last!
want proof that i can see into the future. Within 45 days there will be a major earthquake, more then 8.0 on the rictor scale. it will happen in the ocean, it will cause another huge tidal wave this time striking a bigger country. a lot of people will perish, immediatly after this tidal wave strikes within 72 hours an aftershock with a 6.6 will shake the opposite side of the planet. this time will be big news and will be big as the 911 tragedy. when this happens you will know i spoke the truth.
i will post more after this happens. If you do not believe in Jesus, then i beg you to do so for time is soon to end and you have little time left to accept Jesus!
I am one of Jesus final witnesses spoken of in the bible. Repent and turn to God before its too late! |

First of all the concept that we're all sinners was invented to control people - works too! Second, the whole concept of someone dieing for our sins and the need to be saved was invented to make people subjective to the church. This all came about at the Council of Nicea, held in Constantinople, in the year 325, where what is known as Christian doctrine, and what was to go in the Bible and what was not, was developed. Yes, the whole backbone of the biggest religion in the world was developed in a "committee meeting" of scattered religious leaders for the purpose of controlling people and furthering their agenda of power. It sure has worked too. Sorry, but this is real history, not unverifiable writings based on "faith!" |
